Sadness of an Angel Update

I decided to go back to Sadness of an Angel to finish out this page . I hope to have this page done by the end of the week and then I will be going back to Lilith to get the 1st page of it completed. I am pretty excited to see a bit of forehead come out, I think in the next 3 rows left on this page I will get to an eye - well a bit of one anyways. I have yet to decided if I will go with page 2 which has more hair and what looks like it could be an ear or if I will drop down to page 11 which looks like it is mostly background with a bit of nose on it.

Lilith Update

This is my progress on Lilith, not as much as I had hoped for. Now I need to decide if I will keep with her until page 1 is finished or switch back to Sadness of an Angel. There is still a fair bit of confetti left to do on this page and it is driving me nuts at how slow it is going.

QS Lilith and IHSW

It is that time of month again - time for IHSW and I am so excited ! This is my before pic of Lilith , as you can see I have been working a bit on her wing. I just love the colors in this, such a change from the gray's of sadness of an Angel. I hope to be able to get this page finished off this weekend.

Stalled Out

I am really happy with the progress that I have made on Sadness of an Angel. At the moment I am at almost 4300 stitches. However I have to put her away for a bit as I ran out of a couple colors that I need to work on her. I will go into town sometime next week to pick them up.

I am pulling out QS Lilith to work on until I get some more thread. Maybe I will get lucky and have a page finish in the next week, there are only 2400 stitches until the end of the page :) I will be back in a couple of days with a picture of Lilith.

A bit of hair

I managed to fill the hole in late last night, I am just amazed at the detail in her hair.When I am stitching on her she just looks like a grey blob but when I set her down and take a step back she looks amazing! I have got the top 4 rows done and I think I want to keep going to get the next 3 rows done (2400 stitches). By the time I get to the bottom of the next 3 rows I will be starting a bit of her face and I am very excited for that.

2,800 Stitches

Well I am now at a little over 2800 stitches. I was really hoping to be further along with this by now but this week has just been crazy. This weekend I am going to work on getting the hole closed up. I never showed what the finished artwork will look like so I have added a photo of it below.

Sadness of an Angel

Here is my first update on Sadness of an Angel by HAED. It was started on 11/2/11 on 22 ct mint green fabric that I bought off of ebay. So far I am 2100 stitches into it, the whole design has 118,000 stitches in total and 24 pages. My goal is to have this completed in 1 1/2 years. I will have to finish a page every month to reach that goal :)

So far I am finding that she is a pretty relaxing stitch, though she does tax my eye's a bit as I normally don't do over 1 on anything smaller then 18ct. I am gonna keep going with her for another 1,000 stitches and then i may take a break to work on something with more colour to it.

QS Lilith Update

Here was QS Lilith before the themed SAL over on the HAED BB

And here she is after. I was able to put in 10 hours on her but it feels like I should have made so much more progress in those 10 hours ! There is so much confetti in those antenna that it is really slow going. However I do have to say that as annoying as all that confetti is , those antenna are looking really cute :) She comes up for another 10 hours in 2 slots, next on my rotation list is my Twilight piece that I am doing for my youngest DD.

QS Lilith by Nikki Burnette Update

This is the next project in my rotation, QS Lilith. It has been quite awhile since I last worked on her. She is slotted in for 10 hours . I should be able to get this middle section done in that 10 hours although that antenna is just filled with confetti !

There are 7830 stitches in this first page and well over 48,000 in the whole design ! Well time to get some coffee going and to put that needle to flying. I should be able to put in 4 or 5 hours today as I have nothing planned but stitching.

I could just scream

This is Dragon Sugilite which I was going to work on for the SAL over on the HAED BB however that is not going to happen now :( The background is stitched with alot of 437, I had run out of my 437 for this project so I went and picked up a few more the other day. My 437 must have been old because the new skeins that I picked up do not look the same. so it seems that this will have to wait for a restart. I have to get to Waterville soon to pick up more fabric as I have nothing large enough to restart this on :(

Terra Fairy and a Ornament

This is what I was able to finish on Terra this week, not as much as I had hoped for but I am a little over 1900 stitches so i am fairly pleased. Only 600 more stitches to go before the top 3 rows are done :)

I was also able to get my febuary ornament done this week - well the stitching anyways. I think that I will be finishing this as a flat padded ornament but I need to get to Marden's in Waterville next week and pick up some trim, cording and a tassel.

A Busy Week - Picture Heavy

This past week has been very busy stitching wise. I put a few hundred more stitches into Lissandrea and now the hole in page 1 of her is much smaller, I hope to be able to finish off page 1 this upcoming week.

I also put a few more stitches into Pumpkin Hollow Farm, I am working on the house today so if I am very lucky I will be able to get it done by tonight. However I am doing the house in WEEK's Cocoa so that slows it down a bit.

I restarted my HAED's Magic Witch on the 22ct this week also - I am a bit further along now then this photo show's. I am up to 600 stitches on it.

I also stitched up a bookmark for an exchange that I am in. I will do the finishing on it in the a.m. as it need to be mailed out tomorrow. This was so much fun to stitch up, I have decided that I will be doing 3 or 4 more for Christmas gifts .

Terra Fairy Progress

I have made a bit of progress on Terra fairy, I am really enjoying working the big blocks of green in her. It is a nice break from working on the confetti in some of my other projects :) I really can't wait to get to her head though. There should be a good deal of progress on her next week as the freebie SAL is on for next week on the HAED board.

Getting There

Well I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, I am now 2700 stitches into this ! Only 1300 more stitches until I finish page 1 Yeah !! I am now working on the top of the fairy's head, it's pretty much all confetti so it is pretty slow going. I am going to finish out this page and then try to make some headway on Magic Witch. I restarted her this past week on 20ct even-weave but i am really not happy with the fabric so I am going to restart her yet again on 18ct Aida. I have also decided that I will be restarting my Nimue' "La Pipe", I just hate the fabric way to much to finish it so i might as well do a restart on it . At least then I will feel like stitching on it, I want to have it done and framed so that I can have it ready for Larry's Birthday in November.

I want to be bad !!

So I am so tempted to start these 2 storykeep's from HAED ! They are screaming " Just a few stitches then you can put us away". I think that I need to stay away from the HAED site when they are having sale's LOL ! I am way to distracted by pretty charts. I even ordered the fabric for both of them through 123stitch and it arrived in yesterday's mail. I have decided to stitch them on white 22 ct Aida. They won't be to much bigger then on the 25ct and I won't kill my eye's trying to see the holes. I am going to try to hold out a bit on starting them as I already have 3 HAED WIP"s going at the moment but I don't know much longer I can stand their screaming !

Terra Fairy

this is my start on Terra Fairy. The fabric that I ordered from 123 Stitch arrived yesterday so I was able to get my goal of 500 stitches done, I think I put in about 600 stitches. I am trying something a bit different with this one. Instead of working this HAED in my normal fashion which is to do a 10x10 square before moving on to the next I am trying cross country stitching and it seems to be working out quite well. I am pulling this one from the Q-snaps today and have not yet decided what is going to take it's place.

SK Flower Fairy's Rest Update

So I feel like I am really starting to make some headway on this. I am now 2,000 stitches in and that puts me about 16 % done. She is coming off the Q-snaps today for a much needed bath, as you can see my hoop left some yucky marks. I am about to order some 8 inch Q-snaps and then I am throwing all of my darn hoops away !! I really want to keep working on this one though, I am really enjoying it :) I think though that I am going to work on Twilight while she is being cleaned and dried, I would really like to get a good start on page 3 as it has a ton of 939 in it.

In other news I officially start school today ! I am taking online courses through UMA and am majoring in Library Science's. I looked at some of the assignments that are posted on my class website and let me tell you I am scared right out of my britches, I don't know what the heck I was thinking !! Both classes are 100 level classes but the amount of assignments seems a bit overwhelming ! Wish me luck !

Terra Fairy !!!

I am so excited I opened up my e-mail this morning to find an e-mail that contained the floss list for Terra Fairy. She is from the SAL that I am taking part in over at the HEAD BB on Yuka. On the 1st of January I will receive the first part of the pattern. I can't wait to put the first few stitches into her :) To boot if I post 6 WIP pic in 6 month out of the 12 that the SAL runs I will receive the other charts from the SAL. One of them is an Amy Brown Fairy so you know darn well I will be posting those WIP pic's . It was a hard choice between the Amy Brown Fairy or this one the deciding vote which came from DH who just loves green! Anyways I guess I have rambled enough for now. I will be back soon with pics of what I am working on.

An ornament and some progress

I sat down and stitched this little cutie up last night. It is a freebie from HERE. It was a first for me on a couple of levels, first time using over-dyed threads and first time for using even-weave. I think the count is 28 but I'm not sure.




I also made a bit of progress on my SK. Only 2 more blocks before row 3 is finished . However it is going off the hoop today for a much needed bath. Larry touched it with grubby hands and now it has a black smudge on the back so i will be trying to get that out today.

Well I am now at just over 700 stitches into this. I am really enjoying working on it though it seems to take forever to finish 1 block with all the color changes. I am setting this as my focus piece for this week. My eldest DD is really liking how it is coming along and is excited it be able to see the tip of the flower. I hope to be able to get this second row done by tonight, we'll see though. Next week I am switching my focus piece over to the EMS flower's. I am excited that I will be able to start the February flower.
This SK is really hard to take a picture of. I think it is because the background kind of blends into the off white Aida. I see it on my screen and it doesn't even look 1/2 as good as it does in person. The subtle shading that the background has does not come out well in the pictures. I think that when Income Tax comes in I will be buying several more of the Molly Harrison charts . There are 3 or 4 that I would love to stitch up, however they are all large so I may not be able to stitch them all in this lifetime but DD #1 is starting to show some interest in stitching so she may end up with them LOL!
