Sadness of an Angel Update

I decided to go back to Sadness of an Angel to finish out this page . I hope to have this page done by the end of the week and then I will be going back to Lilith to get the 1st page of it completed. I am pretty excited to see a bit of forehead come out, I think in the next 3 rows left on this page I will get to an eye - well a bit of one anyways. I have yet to decided if I will go with page 2 which has more hair and what looks like it could be an ear or if I will drop down to page 11 which looks like it is mostly background with a bit of nose on it.

Lilith Update

This is my progress on Lilith, not as much as I had hoped for. Now I need to decide if I will keep with her until page 1 is finished or switch back to Sadness of an Angel. There is still a fair bit of confetti left to do on this page and it is driving me nuts at how slow it is going.

QS Lilith and IHSW

It is that time of month again - time for IHSW and I am so excited ! This is my before pic of Lilith , as you can see I have been working a bit on her wing. I just love the colors in this, such a change from the gray's of sadness of an Angel. I hope to be able to get this page finished off this weekend.

Stalled Out

I am really happy with the progress that I have made on Sadness of an Angel. At the moment I am at almost 4300 stitches. However I have to put her away for a bit as I ran out of a couple colors that I need to work on her. I will go into town sometime next week to pick them up.
I am pulling out QS Lilith to work on until I get some more thread. Maybe I will get lucky and have a page finish in the next week, there are only 2400 stitches until the end of the page :) I will be back in a couple of days with a picture of Lilith.

I just couldn't help myself !!

I was trying to be good during the HEAD sale but this one kinda just jumped into my cart :) The dog in it reminds me so much of our Pit Bull Spike ! I want to do this as a gift for my DH , I just know that he will love it. It is not to large , only 283 x 280. I have the perfect piece of white 22ct to do it on :)

A bit of hair

I managed to fill the hole in late last night, I am just amazed at the detail in her hair. When I am stitching on her she just looks like a grey blob but when I set her down and take a step back she looks amazing! I have got the top 4 rows done and I think I want to keep going to get the next 3 rows done (2400 stitches). By the time I get to the bottom of the next 3 rows I will be starting a bit of her face and I am very excited for that.

2,800 Stitches

Well I am now at a little over 2800 stitches. I was really hoping to be further along with this by now but this week has just been crazy. This weekend I am going to work on getting the hole closed up. I never showed what the finished artwork will look like so I have added a photo of it below.

Sadness of an Angel

Here is my first update on Sadness of an Angel by HAED. It was started on 11/2/11 on 22 ct mint green fabric that I bought off of ebay. So far I am 2100 stitches into it, the whole design has 118,000 stitches in total and 24 pages. My goal is to have this completed in 1 1/2 years. I will have to finish a page every month to reach that goal :)

So far I am finding that she is a pretty relaxing stitch, though she does tax my eye's a bit as I normally don't do over 1 on anything smaller then 18ct. I am gonna keep going with her for another 1,000 stitches and then i may take a break to work on something with more colour to it.

November Goals

I have been thinking a bit about what I would like to get done this month with my stitching.

1. 2,000 stitches on HAED - Sadness of an Angel
2. Stitch 3 Christmas Ornies
3. 1500 stitches on Twilight
4. 1200 stitches on Lilith

These are my top stitching goals for this month and if I am able to squeeze in more stitch then this I would like to work on

1. Nimue '' La Pipe''
2. Scared Silly by BOAF
3. Sarah Hook

The Dreaded "S" Word ( Just a vent)

**** Venting - nothing stitching related so feel free to skip if you want ****

While listen to the radio this morning while DH was getting ready for work they mentioned that the forecast was calling for 6 inches of the white stuff. It is supposed to hit tonight/early tomorrow morning. I am so not ready for snow. I am really worried that I will not be able to drive in it again this year. Last year on November 18th my Nana passed away, on the 21st was her funeral. We all got dressed and was in the truck on the way to Augusta when we had a pretty nasty car accident. Needless to say that we ended up missing my Nana's funeral and I did not get back into another car until all of the snow was off of the ground. Even after all of the snow had melted I was still quite anxious and had panic attacks for months from being in a car. This last month the panic attacks have been a bit less but not completely gone and now the snow is coming again and I am scared out of my wits.

I have not driven my truck since the accident, it has been sitting in my driveway for almost a year now. I so want to get rid of it but DH is having a hissy fit and wants me to get over it and drive the truck again this winter. I think he is out of his bloody mind because there is no way I am ever getting back into that truck again. Sometimes I just wish he was a bit more understanding. I really don't want to be trapped in the house for 6 months but the thought of being in a car with snow on the ground really freaks me out. Heck I still can't get into a car if it is raining.

So Sick

Ugg , I have been sick with pneumonia the last couple of weeks. I have finally gotten to the point where I can get out of bed for more then 10 minutes at a time. I am so sick of feeling like I can't draw a good breath. Anyways there hasn't been much on the stitching front, I did pull this out of my WIP bag this morning it is Scared Silly by Birds of a Feather. I figure I will take it back to bed with me and do a bit of stitching on it. There really isn't much left to do before it is finished - some wording and the pumpkin. Maybe I will get lucky and have a finish by next week - that would be nice :)

A Finish :)

Sorry for the crooked scan. Well Futurecast is final finished, it took 27 hours to complete her. You can click on her to see a bigger picture. I have another one to do, my friend Kelly came over the other day while I was finishing off the beads on the dragon and fell in love with the design. Kelly wants her's done in green.

Dragon Love :)

Here she is at 20 hours. I am really pleased with how she is coming out however i don't believe that I will be reaching my goal of finishing her in 25 hours. There is still some stitching to be done, a ton of back stitching and beading. I figure that there is another 10 or so hours to work on her before I see a finish.

I will be keeping her as my car piece instead of trading her out so I may be luck enough to see a finish on her by the end of next week. I have not decided if I will go ahead and start another Futurecast for myself when I complete her or start Dragon Rampant instead. I still have a bit to make that decision though.

I was able to find my mistake on Twilight which ended up with a lot of frogging. I has somehow skipped a 4 row section. After all of that frogging I had to put it away for a little bit I will however get back to stitching on it when it next comes up in my rotation though. I really can't wait to see the end of that project ! I should be able to finish off page 3 on the next round then comes almost a full page of 939 !! Yuck !! I really hope that baby girl likes it when it is done.

Sarah Hook Update

Here I am after 5 hours on Sarah Hook, not to bad though I wish that I could have finished off that wing but i will get it on the next round. Now I am off to put 5 hours into Twilight after I figure out where the mistake is!

Sarah Hook

I just realized that this is the first time I have showed this WIP. I am so near a finish with her, I only have a bit at the top and bottom to go before she is done and on her way to the framer's. I want to get the circle's and the wing finished off on the slot in the rotation, however that wing is a bit of a bear so I may only get the wing done, we'll see.

Rotation

I sat down today and figured out what the next 2 rounds of my rotation will look like. I am going to push to make some real progress on Twilight, I really want to see a finish on it this year so it will be my focus. I hope that I can find the willpower to stay with this rotation without any new starts.

Harvest Moon

Well I was able to finish off Harvest Moon last night while waiting on my son at practice. I think it came out quite nice :) This is the 3rd time I have stitched this pattern and I think it comes out more cute each time. This time I changed the stars from brown to gold and I really like it . Time to pick out another small for the car, I am thinking of using my Futurecast as a car small because I really need to get it finished. I found the perfect ( I think) fabric to go with it at Marden's last month. The next time I show Futurecast I will show the fabric that I picked up.

IHSW Update

I managed to finish this little one by Lizzie Kate this weekend and I even got as far as picking out the backing fabric and ribbon. It has been such a busy weekend with football and playing taxi to the family.

This is my other car piece called Harvest Moon, above is what it will look like finished and below is what I managed to stitch on it this weekend. I wasn't able to touch Pegasus at Stonehenge at all this weekend , maybe this week will be a bit slower and I will be able to put my 1200 into it.

IHSW

I have decided on what i will be stitching on for the IHS weekend, I will be doing up this little Lizzie Kate and of course working on my Pegasus. The Pegasus is coming along, by the end of the weekend I should be about 1200 stitches into the first page, maybe a bit more. I will be back Sunday with pictures :)

A Bit Bogged Down

I am feeling a bit bogged down on my Twilight piece so I figured a new start was in order before I killed my stitching bug. I have made a mistake somewhere in Edward's head but I am to frustrated with it at the moment to figure out where I went wrong so I am going to set it aside until next week and then come back to it to figure it out.

In the mean time I will be working on the one above. It is called Pegasus at Stonehenge and is from Shinysun's Cross Stitch. I will be stitching it on 18ct white Aida. I figure whereas it only uses a handful of colors it will be a great take along project for sitting through my dear son's football practices.

Not As Much

as I had planned to get done on this. I had hoped to be finished with this page by now however this week has been super crazy with us not getting in until late each night. I am still plugging away on it though. My son was invited to join the school football team as a Line - Back and he jumped at the chance so this week has been filled with practices and this weekend with games. I know nothing about football so I guess it is time that I learned LOL !

Change of plans

I have decided to give Twilight a push and finish page 3 before I move on with my rotation. I have about 1500 more stitches to go before this page is finished so I might as well get it out of the way while I am feeling motivated to work on it. I should be back in a few days with a updated picture ! wish me luck :)

More Edward and Bella

As a reminder as to what it will look like when (If ) I finish !

I have now done my 10 hours on this so I am off to another WIP - I may pull out my TW and put a few stitches into it.

Sunday, September 4, 2011

This is the little ornament that I took a break from twilight to stitch. The pattern is from a leaflet called Colors of Autumn by Kris's Stitches. This leaflet has a lot of cute design's in it that I want to stitch. This little ornament took about 4 or 5 hours to stitch up, now I just need to figure out how I am going to finish it.

Progress

I have been able to put 5 hours in on this so far, oh how I dislike 939 !! I am taking a break to stitch a little ornament then I will put another 5 hours into this one.

Twilight is back

Here is Twilight as I last left it, wow it has been months since I last touched it. I got so sick of all of the 939 in it. My goal is to get page 3 to the 1/2 way point. It is slotted for 10 hours so we will see how far I am able to get.

QS Lilith Update

Here was QS Lilith before the themed SAL over on the HAED BB

And here she is after. I was able to put in 10 hours on her but it feels like I should have made so much more progress in those 10 hours ! There is so much confetti in those antenna that it is really slow going. However I do have to say that as annoying as all that confetti is , those antenna are looking really cute :) She comes up for another 10 hours in 2 slots, next on my rotation list is my Twilight piece that I am doing for my youngest DD.

QS Lilith by Nikki Burnette Update

This is the next project in my rotation, QS Lilith. It has been quite awhile since I last worked on her. She is slotted in for 10 hours . I should be able to get this middle section done in that 10 hours although that antenna is just filled with confetti !
There are 7830 stitches in this first page and well over 48,000 in the whole design ! Well time to get some coffee going and to put that needle to flying. I should be able to put in 4 or 5 hours today as I have nothing planned but stitching.

FutureCast @ 13 hours

I have named her Calypso, pretty name for a pretty little dragon :) I worked a few more hours on her by candlelight last night while the power was out due to Tropical Storm Irene. Now I am going back to QS Lilith for a few more hours, I may put another couple of hours into Calypso tonight if I have time. Next week I hope to be able to get to Waterville to pick up the fabric I need to finish her off. I am shooting to have her done in under 25 hours, there is still a good bit left to do on her so we'll see.

Some WIP's

This is my Nimue's "La Pipe", I had to restart him because I just hated the fabric that I was stitching him on. I was stitching him over 2 on 25 ct Dublin Linen with 3 strands, now I am stitching him on 32 ct Antique White evenweave. I am stitching him for Larry for his 43rd Birthday in November. I hope he will be done in time, currently he is at 23 hours and comes back up in my rotation in 2 slots for another 7 hours. I am hopeing that I can get his legs, a bit of the pipe and some B.S. done in those 7 hours.

This is a freebie that I found on the Teresa Wentzler website and it is called Futurecast. I am doing it as a gift for my Aunt Kim for Christmas, her favorite color is purple so I went with a purple/teal conversion for it. I even know how I am going to finish it, over on the blog Random Ramblings there is an awesome tutorial for a fabric -mat that I think would make this look stunning ! I can't wait to finish it, this scan is about 7 hours in.

I could just scream

This is Dragon Sugilite which I was going to work on for the SAL over on the HAED BB however that is not going to happen now :( The background is stitched with alot of 437, I had run out of my 437 for this project so I went and picked up a few more the other day. My 437 must have been old because the new skeins that I picked up do not look the same. so it seems that this will have to wait for a restart. I have to get to Waterville soon to pick up more fabric as I have nothing large enough to restart this on :(

A very small finish

Sorry for the horrible photo - well really scan. Since the camera is broken and it may be another couple of months before I have the money to replace it a very dear friend loaned me his printer that has a scanner built into it. I am still trying to get the hang of using it.

I finished this little cutie off a couple of days ago. I will be turning it into a small ornament. Now i need to go through all of my WIP's and get some current scan's of them. Watch for more pic's coming soon :)

Pallet Shed Idea

So while playing around on the internet today I came across the neatest idea. This shed is built of discarded pallets. What a neat way to recyle - Larry has given me the o.k. to do this so I will be collecting pallets over the winter and come next Sping we will be putting one of these up to use as a goat shed for the goats that we want to get.

Here is a link to the site :
